Club-Vaux RULES
By agreeing to these rules you are agreeing to abide by them. These rules are for the benefit of all our members and Club-Vaux staff. If you don't like them, then don't join up, don't join in and don't use this site. If you do join up, read them and abide by them. They are there for the benefit of all members, including you!

DISCLAIMER
Whilst Club-Vaux staff will attempt to keep the forum free from objectionable content, it is impossible for us to read each and every post as soon as it is submitted. Therefore you acknowledge that all posts made to these forums express the sole views and opinions of the author and not that of other members of Club-Vaux or Club-Vaux staff (except for posts by these people), therefore Club-Vaux will not be held liable. Furthermore you warrant that by registering with Club-Vaux, or just browsing our forums, you will indemnify Club-Vaux from any and all legal liability both civil, criminal, or otherwise.

BUYING & SELLING
We want you to enjoy buying and selling your unwanted stuff on Club-Vaux, but remember the golden rule: "Buyer Beware!" Car forums all over the internet are full of members who have been scammed by the most unlikliest of scammers, so excercise some basic caution, even if it is someone you have dealt with before or someone who has been on the forum for a while.

Club-Vaux will not be held responsible if things go wrong, it's up to the buyer and the seller to make a deal both parties are happy with. Always get a land-line telephone number, cell phone number and the address of the seller or buyer so you have some contact details should things not go as planned. Selling ON BEHALF OF is not permitted, If you dont own the item or have it in your posession then you may not sell it on club-vaux.

If you want to sell your stuff in our community, we want to get to know you first. Therefore EVERY member posting ANY items FOR SALE must have a minimum of 50 posts AND you must have been a member for over 30 days. Posts just containing "hello" "me too", "lol", etc., or posts considered to be spam just to get your post count up to the target 50 times, WILL NOT COUNT. Whilst we cannot protect anyone from a scam we have some straightforward rules regarding buying and selling. If these rules aren't adhered to, we reserve the right to delete your advert.

All items for sale must be by a member eligible to sell, the listing MUST include a photo of the item(s) for sale & a PRICE must be stated. If these requirements are not met your listing WILL be removed by a member of staff, If you continue to post out side of the rules we will remove your right to sell on club-vaux.

SELLING: As a seller, you have a duty to ensure your advert is as accurate as possible. if you're selling a part "as new", then don't expect something covered in rust, dents, scratches and in a tatty box, to be accepted "as new". Be precise when you create your advert and state whether postage is included. Include a picture of the item with your username on a piece of paper together with the date. This will give some proof that you do indeed have the item to sell in the first place.

BUYING: It is the buyers responsibility to ask as many questions as you need to in order to satisfy yourself regarding the suitability and condition of a for sale item that you wish to purchase.

A typical "bad" advert might run like this:
FOR SALE: "Facelift Vectra headlights £100.00 No pics at the moment but you all know what they look like lol"
Typical questions: Are they scratched / cracked /damaged? Will they fit your car? Does it include the wiring loom plugs? Does it include the bulbs? If so how many bulbs are included? Do the bulbs work? Does that include postage? is the postage tracked / recorded / signature? Method of payment required?

As you can see, there is more to one simple transaction than just saying "They're nice, I'll have them!" Check it out THOROUGHLY, BEFORE you part with your money. Club-Vaux will not be held responsible if you get scammed so take every precaution you can like getting a landline telephone number and address from the seller. If possible arrange to meet face to face to conclude the deal.

COMPLAINTS
If you want to complain about a post or a thread, use the REPORT button to bring it to the attention of Club-Vaux admin. If your complaint is with another member, contact a Moderator via PM. If your complaint is with an area rep or moderator, contact Club-Vaux Admin. Complaints made public on the forum may be removed unless you're having a rant. All ranting should be done in the appropriate section.

CROSS POSTING
If you have something to post, post it in the correct forum. Our forums are simple to navigate and it will save our moderators from having to do it for you. Do not post the same thing in multiple forums as duplicate threads just create confusion and they will be re-moved / deleted.

DISCRIMINATION
Discrimination, in any shape or form, whether it is related to race, sex, disability, religion, sexual orientation or political persuasion will not be tolerated on Club-Vaux.

ENGLISH IS OUR LANGUAGE
This is an English forum so please speak English. Text speak is NOT English. If you want people to help you, use ENGLISH. Badly worded and misspelt posts will be edited or may be deleted.

If English is not your native language we will be as helpful as we can in accommodating you, but please do not post any content: posts, threads, pictures or comments in any language other than English. Anything posted which contravenes this rule will be deleted without exception. Persistent disregard of this rule may result in a ban.

EXPLICIT MATERIAL
Posting pornography in the open forums is in direct breach of the rules and regulations of our server provider and is not allowed. Any pictures, words, links, graphics or images posted on the open forums and deemed offensive by Club-Vaux admin will be removed and the member reprimanded or banned.

Any thread containing adult material must only be posted in the Over 18 forum. This forum is password protected. Access can only be obtained by a pm to Club-Vaux Admin. Access is granted via a seperate password. This is password is confidential material and is not to be disclosed to anyone else. Rules pertaining to the Over18 section can be found therein as a stickie. Please read the rules and abide by them.

FAO POSTING
Only post FAO posts in the FAO Area. The use of private messaging is preferable if the subject matter is in any way sensitive..

FLAMING
Flaming or insulting other members will not be tolerated on Club-Vaux and offending posts will be edited / deleted and the offending member may be banned from Club-Vaux.

The rule on Flaming also extends to other websites and forums. If you have a complaint about another website or forum take it up with the relevant webmaster or admin. Please do NOT bring your problems with other websites or forums to Club-Vaux.

IMAGE RESTRICTIONS
We have to have size restrictions on forum images for signatures, avatars and members profile pictures because they impact on the "server traffic" to our Server provider. This means that the bigger these image are, the more bandwidth they consume to show up on someones computer screen and the slower things run, so please keep to the sizes and dimensions we request. Also make sure any image used for an avatar, signature or profile picture falls within our pornography guidelines. Signatures, avatars and profile pictures must not advertise other business' or websites unless permission has been obtained from Club-Vaux admin. We are a family-orientated forum so any pictures or graphics deemed offensive by Club-Vaux admin will be removed and the member reprimanded. Image sizes and restrictions are as follows:
AVATARS:
Avatars are viewable by everyone, so any user Avatar must be free from any lewd profane material or acknowledged swear words or similar. The maximum size permitted for Avatars is a 110x84 pixel frame with a file size of no more than 50kb. Lightly animated GIF files are allowed, but static JPG files are preferred. Avatars breaking these rules will be removed by admin and a pm sent. If this rule is broken your avatar may be removed.
SIGNATURES:
A signature may contain one or more images but they must fit within a box with maximum dimensions of 400 x 75 pixels (width x height) and with a maximum (combined) file size of 100k. No text will be allowed under the maximum picture allowed, If no images are used then up to 4 consecutive lines of normal (size3) or smaller text is permitted. Do not pad out your text lines with blanks lines. A line of text is defined as having a maximum length of 400 pixels. If you want to turn the signature off in the future, you can come back and edit your post. If you have specified a signature in your profile, the box will be automatically ticked for you. Signatures breaking these rules will be removed by admin. If this rule is broken your ability to display signatures will be removed. Animated signatures no more than 300 x 60 and 100k and non-animated signatures 400 x 75 and 100k.
PROFILE PICTURES:
The maximum size of your custom image is 100 by 100 pixels or 64.0 KB (whichever is smaller).

INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOUR
Any member reported for harassing, threatening or abusive behaviour towards another member or member of Club-Vaux staff will be investigated and may face a ban from Club-Vaux. Should you feel you are "on the receiving end" from any other member inform Club-Vaux admin immediately. If you feel you are getting a raw deal from a member of Club-vaux staff, contact ADMIN immediately via pm.

MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS
Creating multiple accounts on Club-Vaux is not allowed and will result in a ban if you breach this rule.

PORNOGRAPHY
We expect you to behave like an adult so the posting of pornography which is in direct breach of the rules and regulations of our server provider is not allowed. This includes but is not limited to images, drawings, video's, references, written, links or otherwise. If it contains genitalia, cartoons or drawings of genitalia or copulation or any other sex act or depiction thereof, DON'T POST IT! If you think it may get deleted, it probably will, and SO WILL YOU, SO DON'T POST PORN! We have an over 18's section if you need to post something you shouldn't post elsewhere. And please... Use your common sense!

PRIVATE MESSAGING
Publishing private messages on a forum without the consent of the other party is not allowed. Anyone reported to be abusing the PM system may be banned. There is however one exception. You have the right to report a PM to a Club-Vaux Administrator if you feel you are being harassed by another member via the Private Messaging system.

PROMOTING OTHER SITES OR BUSINESSES
You are not allowed to advertise a business on Club-Vaux unless you are an official Club-Vaux sponsor or have permission from Club-Vaux admin. If you promote another site or business in any shape or form without permission you may be banned. Offending posts, graphics, words and links will be removed at the discretion of Club-Vaux staff.

REPORTING POSTS
Club-Vaux is a thriving community and our Moderators and staff cannot be everywhere at once and read every single post, so if you see what you consider a questionable post then report it to a Moderator or to Club-Vaux admin. If you think a post breaks the rules or you are unsure whether a post should be reported, report it anyway. Club-Vaux staff will decide whether action needs to be taken.

RESPECT
Respect the members and the staff of Club-Vaux. Our purpose is to help and support our community of Vauxhall fanatics. Be respectful of others opinions, even if you don't share them. Give people a time to respond to your requests. There's a lot going on in these forums and it may take a time for people to notice and respond to your request, so please, be patient.

SPAMMING
Spamming threads, and For Sale threads in particular is not encouraged. Useless and non-contributory comments such as "me too" and other post-count building posts may be trimmed or deleted at the request of the original poster or a member of Club-Vaux staff if deemed necessary.

DO NOT use the Club-Vaux community for the purpose of advertising other car forums or a business with names or graphics in your sig / avatar / profile. This includes forum posts, private messages, or emails to other Club-Vaux members. Club-Vaux staff reserve the right to edit or delete any posts, signatures or avatars they consider to be spam and If we find that you are spamming our community, you will be warned by Club-Vaux staff and at best it may lead to the deletion of your posts and at worst you will be banned.

SWEARING
Absolutely NO swearing whatsoever in thread titles. Do not attempt to bypass the swear filter. Swearing is not totally banned on Club-Vaux, but please be thoughtful and courteous to other members who may not appreciate your use of the English language and may consider your effing and blinding to be offensive behaviour. We're all grown-ups so we expect you to be able to conduct yourself in an adult manner and moderate yourself accordingly. if you want a good swear then go and stand at the front door of your house and vent it to your neighbours. Failing that we have an over 18 section, go have a rant in there.

And please note... NO SWEARING IN THREAD SUBJECTS! There are NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule!

WAREZ
Do not upload, attach, or otherwise post any copyrighted material which you are not free to redistribute (subject to the licensing terms of the specific item). Do not post links or references to illegal software (warez). Links to content of a questionable nature, including but not limited to warez, cracks, serials or illegally obtained copyrighted content, the provision of or asking for, offering, or asking for help / helping to process such content in any way or form is not tolerated. Any such posts will be deleted and you may be banned.

And finally...

SHOWING YOU THE DOOR!
Any actions that you do that makes excessive work for the Club-Vaux staff: Regular inciteful rule breaking, twisting of rules, regularly annoying other members, disrespecting Club-Vaux members or staff, or actions that persistently require staff intervention... If banning you is easier than dealing with the problems you are causing, you will be banned.
